Amitai Mann
אמיתי מן
Amitai Mann is an internationally active composer and woodwind instrumentalist whose original music brings together traditions from around the world, musical research, improvisation and contemporary composition.
About the artist
Mann has performed at numerous festivals and concert venues across Israel, Japan, Vietnam, North America and Europe, while leading music workshops and artist sessions for diverse audiences. He is a founding member and creative force behind GUTE GUTE, one of Israel’s prominent Balkan music ensembles, which he has helped shape and lead since its inception. Alongside his ensemble work, he has released several albums of original music, including Simanim, a collaboration with pianist Matan Serry that explores Jewish cantillation and transforms its melodic structures into a contemporary language of composition and improvisation. His work as a composer, arranger and recording musician spans short films, television series and media productions, including projects for MGM Studios and Artlist. His artistic work has received grants and support from the ACUM Promotion Fund, Mifal HaPais and the Israeli Ministry of Culture. At the heart of his practice is a belief that musical traditions are not relics of the past, but living sources of inspiration, continually renewed through creativity, dialogue and exploration.
