Privacy Policy — Sulam Ya'akov
Last updated: October 2026
1. General
The Sulam Ya'akov website (https://sulamyaakov.art, the "Site") is operated by Yaakov Israel (the "Operator", "we" or "us"). This policy explains what personal information the Site collects, what it is used for, who it is shared with, and what rights you have.
This policy follows the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, including Amendment No. 13, and the Protection of Privacy (Data Security) Regulations, 5777-2017. It forms part of the Site's terms of use. This English version is provided for convenience; if there is any discrepancy, the Hebrew version prevails.
2. What information we collect
Artists and creators who register:
- Name, email address, phone number and art form
- Content the artist chooses to publish on their page: bio, photos, videos, links, show details, recommendations and recommendation letters
- Account sign-in details: email, and when signing in with Google, the name and email of the Google account (the Site does not store passwords; they are handled by the sign-in provider)
- The date and version of the terms they accepted
Culture coordinators and bookers who register: name, role, organization name and type, region, phone, email, interests, typical budget, and whether they agreed to receive updates.
People who contact an artist through the inquiry form: name, contact details, message and requested date.
Messages sent through the contact form: name, contact details and message.
Activity of signed-in users: reviews and ratings, blog comments and likes, and a list of favorite artists.
Technical information collected automatically:
- IP address, used to protect against spam and repeated form submissions
- Browser and device type, and a technical log of failed form submissions, to troubleshoot problems
- Aggregate usage statistics through Google Analytics: which pages were viewed, where you came from and how long you stayed
- Ad measurement data through the Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram): page views and actions such as completing an artist registration or sending an inquiry, so we know which of our ads brought visitors
- How you arrived: when you come through a link in an ad or campaign, the campaign and ad names (UTM parameters), the Facebook click id and the referring site are stored in your browser, and if you register as an artist they are also saved with your registration
3. How we use the information
The information is used only to:
- Display artist pages in the catalog, as chosen by the artist
- Deliver inquiries from bookers to the right artist
- Manage accounts, approve profiles and provide support
- Send service messages, such as a new-inquiry alert or a reminder to complete a profile
- Keep the Site secure and prevent spam, fraud and abuse
- Improve the Site based on aggregate usage statistics
- Measure and improve the effectiveness of our ad campaigns
- Comply with the law
We do not sell or rent personal information. To measure and improve our ads on Facebook and Instagram, the Site uses the Meta Pixel, whose data Meta may also use to deliver ads, under its own privacy policy. See the cookies section, including how to block this.
4. Are you required to provide information?
There is no legal obligation to give us any information. However, without certain details, such as an artist's email or an inquirer's contact details, we cannot provide the service: publish an artist page, deliver an inquiry or get back to you.
5. Information that is public
Content an artist chooses to add to their page (name, bio, photos, videos, shows and recommendations) is visible to all visitors and may appear in search engines. The artist can edit or delete it at any time from their dashboard.
Reviews of artists and blog comments are published with the name the writer provided.
An artist's private contact details, i.e. the email where inquiries arrive, are not shown on the public page. Visitors reach the artist through the inquiry form.
6. Who we share information with
An inquiry sent to an artist through the Site is delivered to that artist, including the sender's name and contact details, so the artist can reply. That is the purpose of the form.
To run the Site we use outside service providers, which store or process information on our behalf and only to provide the service:
- Supabase: database, file storage and sign-in management
- Vercel: website hosting
- Resend: sending emails from the Site
- Google: traffic analytics (Google Analytics) and Google sign-in
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram): measuring the effectiveness of our ads (Meta Pixel)
- Cloudflare (Turnstile): automatic check that the sender is not a robot
- Anthropic (Claude): when an artist uses the AI content-writing tool, the details they enter are sent for processing to draft the text
Artist pages may include embedded videos and players from YouTube, Spotify or Apple Music, as added by the artist. When they load or play, those services may collect information under their own privacy policies.
Payments for services on the Site are made through outside services such as PayBox, Bit or PayPal. The Site never sees or stores credit card details.
Beyond that, we disclose information only when required by law, for example by a court order, or to protect the Site and its users from abuse.
7. Storage outside Israel
Some of our service providers store information on servers outside Israel, including in the United States and the European Union. These are well-known companies committed to accepted data-protection standards. By using the Site you consent to this transfer, subject to the Protection of Privacy (Transfer of Data to Databases Abroad) Regulations, 5761-2001.
8. Cookies and browser storage
The Site uses three kinds of cookies:
- Essential cookies: keep you signed in. Without them you cannot sign in
- Analytics cookies: from Google Analytics, measuring Site usage in aggregate
- Ad measurement cookies: from the Meta Pixel, linking a view of or click on our ad on Facebook or Instagram to an action on the Site
The Site also stores small preferences in your browser, such as dismissing the cookie notice, and how you arrived at the Site (see above). Preferences stay on your device only; how you arrived is attached to an artist registration, if you register.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will prevent signing in. You can also block Google Analytics alone with Google's official add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. You can limit Meta's use of this data for ads in your Facebook ad settings: https://www.facebook.com/adpreferences
9. Emails and updates
Emails that are part of the service, such as an alert to an artist about a new inquiry, a registration confirmation or a reminder to complete a profile, are sent as part of using the Site.
Marketing updates or newsletters are sent only to people who explicitly agreed to receive them. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us or using the unsubscribe link in the email.
10. Data security
We take reasonable, accepted measures to protect information, including:
- An encrypted connection (HTTPS) across the whole Site
- Sign-in through a secure provider, with no passwords stored by us
- Restricted database access permissions, with admin screens available to the Operator only
- Bot protection and rate limits on form submissions
However, no internet-connected system is completely secure. If a serious security incident occurs, we will act and report it as the law requires.
11. How long we keep information
Account details and content of artists and coordinators are kept while the account is active. An artist can permanently delete their page from the dashboard, and you can ask us to delete any account.
Inquiries to artists and contact-form messages are kept for follow-up and support, and deleted on request.
IP records used for spam protection are kept briefly and deleted automatically.
We may keep certain information longer when the law requires it, for example for bookkeeping.
12. Your rights
Under the Protection of Privacy Law, you have the right to:
- Review the information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong, incomplete or out of date
- Ask us to delete your information
- Withdraw consent to marketing emails at any time
To make a request, use the contact form on the Site (sulamyaakov.art/contact). We will respond within 30 days. We may ask to verify your identity before disclosing or deleting information.
If you believe your rights have been violated, you may also contact the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority at the Ministry of Justice.
13. Minimum age
The service is intended for people aged 18 and over only. Do not register, open an account or submit personal details if you are under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from a minor, we will delete it.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we add a new service. The last-updated date appears at the top of the page. For material changes, we will post a notice on the Site.
15. Contact
For any privacy question: Yaakov Israel, Site Operator, through the contact page on the Site (sulamyaakov.art/contact).
